Pathways Programme at The Children’s Support Service (CSS)

Within our provision, CSS runs a Pathways Programme for EHCP students at Key Stage 2 (Years 5 and 6) and Key Stage 4 (Years 10 and 11)

The programme is funded by the Local Authority SEND Operations team, through whom all referrals are made.  There are 6 primary places and 20 secondary places available.

The Pathways Programme is designed to provide a stable, nurturing and needs-led placement during the crucial transition key stages 2 and 4, leading to a new placement outside of CSS at its conclusion.

Students enrolled on the Pathways Programme are single registered with us and CSS is their named educational provision on their EHCP.

Pathways’ students have a variety of needs with most presenting with a Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) profile, although all cases are considered on an individual basis.

CSS maintains a high staff-to-pupil ratio, with qualified and experienced teachers working with small groups of pupils, or where appropriate, on a one-to-one basis.

CSS is proud to be a TPP (Trauma Perceived Practice) school, which is grounded in an understanding of how trauma can impact an individual and their educational needs.

We offer a small, nurturing environment in which to learn and grow.
